Mountain Caribou Hunting

Blackstone Outfitters offers caribou hunts from August 1st through the end of the hunting season as an add-on to our sheep hunts or moose hunts. Although only offered as an add-on, caribou hunts should not be looked at as a simple side trip. These animals offer an incredible hunting experience, and we encourage all hunters to seize the opportunity to harvest this unique trophy if they are lucky enough to finish their sheep or moose hunt early.

Trophy Mountain Caribou Hunts in the Yukon

The Blackstone area of Canada’s Yukon Territory has produced great trophy caribou bulls over the years. 

We primarily hunt caribou in the southern part of our hunting area in a traditional manner on horseback. However, we occasionally change to hunting by backpack or with argos depending on the hunting conditions and animal patterns. 

Regardless of method, your experienced Canadian hunting guides will apply their years of knowledge to put you on the trophy caribou bull hunt of your dreams.

Barren-Ground Caribou Hunting

Although our caribou in the Blackstone area are scientifically mountain caribou, the Boone and Crockett Club has classified them as barren-ground caribou and they can be registered as such.

That said, we and all other hunting outfitters in the Yukon strictly treat these hunts as mountain caribou hunts based on scientific data and the hunting experience and terrain.
